Surface Density:

Panels have a low surface density in relation to their acoustic attenuation value.

Thickness:

Because you can receive the panels in 12,18 or 25mm this allows for maximum use of space in the boat.

MOE and Flexural Strength:

When the panels are used for load bearing floors, the following figures apply.

MOE                                Longitudinal 3256                  Transverse 4809

Flexural Resistance       Longitudinal 29.87                 Transverse 47.49

Traction at right angles to outer surfaces: (MPa) 0.84

 Noise/Sound Emissions

The basic insulation between two rooms is the difference in the levels of acoustic pressure measured in the transmitting room and in the receiving room. This includes all direct and indirect noises, and is expressed in dB (A).

The transmitted noise is known as ‘Rose’ (a constant level for all frequencies), and as ‘Route’ noise (taking account of the sensitivity of the ear to different frequencies)

The sound value of a wall allows evaluation of the direct transmission between one room and another.

The value of Acoustiply panels between 2 rooms has been calculated in dB (A) for ‘Rose’ noise transmission and ‘route’ noise transmission. The results obtained varied from 32 to 34dB (A) in R ‘Rose’ and from 28 to 32dB (A) in R ‘Route’.

It should be noted that these figures correspond to a direct transmission and, in practice, should be lowered by d dB to take account of lateral transmissions. These results compared with plywood & brick demonstrate that Acoustiply has a very good acoustic ratio.

The size of the rubber is in 1530 x 1030mm, but our sheet sizes can still be made in the nominal 8’ x 4’ sheet size.(2440 x 1220mm)

KR8 is 4.68mm and KR5 (most common) is 3mm
