WHAT IS BALTIC BIRCH
Baltic Birch (Betula spp.) is a hardwood species sourced primarily from Northern and Eastern Europe, including Latvia and Finland. Known for its uniform density and layered multi-ply construction, Baltic Birch plywood offers excellent strength, flatness, and dimensional stability. It features cross-bonded 1.4mm veneers throughout, with minimal core voids and consistent face quality. Baltic Birch is widely used in cabinetry, drawer boxes, furniture, transport, and interior construction due to its machinability and durability.
PANEL CROSS SECTION
Composed of multiple 1.4mm birch veneers bonded in a cross-laminated structure using WBP phenolic resin adhesive. Sanded both sides and constructed with minimal core voids. BB/WGE grade faces with long or cross grain orientation. Rated for exterior use and compliant with EN 13986 Class E1 formaldehyde emissions.
FEATURES
-
Cross-Bonded Veneers - Constructed with 1.4mm birch veneers laid in alternating grain directions, providing excellent structural stability.
-
Face Grade Options - Supplied in BB/WGE face grade with the choice of long or cross grain orientation to suit different applications.
-
Sanded Finish - Both faces are sanded smooth, delivering a consistent surface ready for finishing or lamination.
-
WBP Phenolic Adhesive - Bonded with weather- and boil-proof phenolic resin adhesive, ensuring durability in challenging environments.
-
Minimal Core Voids - Manufactured with strict controls to minimize voids, allowing clean machining and dependable edge quality.
-
Low Emissions - Fully compliant with EN 13986 Class E1 formaldehyde standards (EN 717-2 tested), making it safe for interior use.
-
Versatile Applications - Suitable for both interior and exterior projects, including furniture, cabinetry, transport, and construction.

CORE

Constructed from cross-laminated birch hardwood veneers, each layer is 1.4mm thick for balanced strength and durability. The alternating grain structure reduces warping and delivers excellent dimensional stability.
FACE

Graded to BB/WGE standard, available in long or cross grain orientation depending on application needs. Both faces are sanded smooth, providing a consistent surface ready for finishing, laminating, or coating.
ADHESIVE

Bonded with WBP phenolic resin adhesive, tested as weather- and boil-proof for long-term reliability. This waterproof bonding ensures performance in demanding interior and exterior conditions.
EDGE

Manufactured with a solid birch core that carries cleanly through to the edges with minimal voids. This allows precise machining and dependable strength without the need for heavy edge treatment.
