SOLID SAPELE

Sapele (Entandrophragma cylindricum) is a hardwood species native to West and Central Africa. It is known for its density, stability, and reddish-brown color, with an interlocked grain pattern that machines and finishes well. When used in marine-grade plywood, Sapele provides structural integrity and weather resistance suitable for hull sides, planking, and exterior joinery. It is often used as a mahogany alternative in both marine and architectural applications.

CERTIFIED QUALITY
Manufactured to BS 1088 standards and approved by Lloyd’s Register, ensuring compliance with marine-grade performance requirements.
STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY
Built with sapele throughout the core, providing consistent strength and durability across the entire panel.
WATERPROOF BONDING
Constructed with WBP Type 1 phenolic adhesive, offering long-term resistance to moisture and boiling water.
MARINE APPLICATIONS

Designed for hull sides, exterior joinery, and demanding marine construction where reliability is critical.

CORE
The core is built entirely from sapele hardwood veneers of uniform density and thickness, ensuring balanced construction and minimizing voids. This through-and-through composition provides structural integrity for marine and exterior use.

FACE
Rotary-cut whole-piece sapele veneers are used for the face, providing a seamless surface without splicing. Each veneer is sanded to a uniform finish for consistency and suitability in marine-grade finishing.

ADHESIVE
Panels are bonded with WBP Type 1 phenolic resin, a waterproof adhesive formulated to resist boiling water, high humidity, and prolonged moisture exposure. This resin ensures permanent bonds between veneers, making it suitable for exterior and marine-grade applications.

EDGE
Manufactured with a solid hardwood core that extends to the edges, reducing the chance of gaps or filler. Minimal voids ensure clean machining, strong fastener holding, and reliable performance in structural and marine applications.
