WHAT IS BENDING PLYWOOD

Bending plywood is a flexible panel specifically engineered to curve along a designated grain direction, allowing smooth radius applications that cannot be achieved with standard plywood. Manufactured with thin veneer layers arranged to maximize flexibility, it is commonly used for columns, curved cabinetry, wall features, and architectural elements requiring shaped surfaces.

SPECIALTY APPLICATION

Bending plywood is considered a specialty panel because it is specifically engineered to curve and form tight radiuses that standard plywood cannot achieve. Its construction allows controlled flexibility in one direction, making it suitable for columns, arches, curved cabinetry, and custom architectural elements where flat panels are not practical. This purpose-built flexibility distinguishes it from conventional structural plywood products.

FEATURES

  • Flexible Construction – Engineered to bend easily along its grain direction for curved installations.

  • Radius Applications – Ideal for columns, arches, curved cabinetry, and custom architectural features.

  • Lightweight Panel – Thin veneer construction allows manageable handling during fabrication.

  • Lamination Ready – Typically used as a substrate for veneer, laminate, or finishing overlays.

  • Fabrication Friendly – Can be cut and shaped using standard woodworking tools.

Manufactured from layered wood veneers arranged to promote flexibility in one direction while maintaining stability once laminated or fixed in place.

FACE

Supplied with a smooth wood veneer surface intended as a substrate for laminates, veneers, or applied finishes rather than as a finished face.

ADHESIVE

Bonded using interior-grade adhesive systems appropriate for interior architectural applications.

EDGE
