Thicknesses: 12mm, 18mm
WHAT IS MEDIUM DENSITY OVERLAY PLYWOOD
Medium Density Overlay (M.D.O.) plywood is an exterior-grade plywood panel with a resin-impregnated fiber overlay bonded to one or both faces under heat and pressure. The overlay creates a smooth, uniform surface that resists moisture, abrasion, and weathering while retaining the strength and dimensional stability of plywood. MDO is commonly specified where a paintable, durable substrate is required, such as signage, exterior cladding, and industrial applications.
SPECIALTY APPLICATION
MDO plywood is considered a specialty panel because its resin-treated overlay provides a smoother, more durable surface than standard plywood, making it ideal for painted finishes, exterior siding, truck and trailer linings, and other applications demanding moisture resistance and long-lasting surface performance.
FEATURES
-
Resin-Impregnated Overlay – Resin-saturated fiber surface bonded under heat and pressure produces a smooth, paint-ready face.
-
Weather & Moisture Resistance – Exterior-grade construction with a protective face layer improves durability in wet and outdoor conditions.
-
Superior Paint Adhesion – Overlay surface accepts primer and paint more consistently than untreated plywood.
-
Dimensional Stability – Maintains strength, rigidity, and balance typical of plywood panels.
-
Workable Material – Can be cut, routed, and fastened with standard woodworking tools.

CORE

Constructed with an exterior-grade plywood core that provides strength, rigidity, and balanced stability under normal use conditions.
FACE

The surface features a resin-impregnated fiber overlay that produces a smooth, uniform texture designed for painting or finishing.
ADHESIVE

Bonded with waterproof resins that resist delamination and provide long-term durability in exterior applications.
EDGE

Exposed edges reveal plywood construction beneath the overlay face. Edges should be sealed or finished as required in exterior or high-moisture installations.
