WHAT IS STARBOARD
Starboard is a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) marine-grade sheet engineered for full exterior use. Manufactured as a solid, continuous-extruded plastic panel, it will not delaminate, rot, swell, or absorb moisture. Starboard is widely used in marine environments where long-term durability, UV resistance, and low maintenance are critical.
Unlike plywood or composite panels, Starboard is a homogeneous plastic sheet that maintains structural integrity even in constant exposure to saltwater, humidity, and direct sunlight.
SPECIALTY APPLICATION
Starboard is considered a specialty panel because it replaces traditional wood and plywood in environments where moisture, rot, and long-term exposure are concerns. Its solid plastic construction eliminates issues such as delamination, core voids, and water intrusion, making it ideal for high-moisture marine and exterior applications where dimensional stability and durability are essential.
FEATURES
-
Solid HDPE Construction – Manufactured as a continuous extrusion with no laminate layers to separate.
-
Moisture & Saltwater Resistant – Will not absorb water, swell, or rot in marine environments.
-
UV Stable – Engineered to resist fading and degradation from prolonged sun exposure.
-
Low Maintenance – Requires no sealing, painting, or refinishing.
-
Machinable – Cuts, routes, and drills using standard woodworking tools.
-
Marine & Exterior Use – Commonly used for cabinetry, trim, hatch covers, seating components, and exterior joinery.

CORE

Solid high-density polyethylene (HDPE) construction throughout. No internal plies, laminations, or core voids.
FACE

Smooth, consistent plastic surface available in multiple colors depending on application requirements. Non-porous and easy to clean.
ADHESIVE

Not applicable. Starboard is a solid plastic sheet and does not rely on bonded veneers or laminated construction.
EDGE

Uniform solid plastic edge with no exposed core layers. Edges can be routed, beveled, or machined cleanly without sealing.
